HOCKEY 101 Our newest event. It is a class taught by Coach Derek Laxdal for all of us who wish we knew everything about our favorite game! There are 3 classes...Offense, Defense and Special Teams.
CHRISTMAS BANQUET This banquet (party) is to provide a "down home" Christmas dinner for the players and their families. The location is chosen by the Christmas Committee and potluck dishes are once again the order of the day. This is not an open event, and booster club members will again be asked to show their cards. We have a round robin gift exchange for the players. Special gifts are presented to their wives and their children. Adult gifts should be $25.00 in value and $10.00 for a child's gift. The committee asks members to sign up to bring food and gifts. Team staff and their families are also invited.
TOYS FOR TOTS The Toys for Tots Toss is to acquire as many toys as possible to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign. It is held during a weekend game at the Qwest Arena. The toys are tossed onto the ice after the first Steelheads goal. Our boys and girls are usually there going throughout the crowd selling toys to be tossed onto the ice.
SKATE WITH STEELHEADS The skates with the players are held at Qwest Arena following designated games and designed to give the club members the opportunity to skate and get better aquainted with the team. This is a club function for MEMBERS ONLY...no guests. There is no charge but you will be required to present your club card before you are allowed in the tunnel or on the ice.
JERSEY AUCTION The Jersey Auction is to raise operating funds for the club. We auction the team jerseys on or around the last home game of the regular season. You can bid on your favorite player's jersey and if you are the highest bidder, you win the players Jersey. Every attempt will be made to get the jerseys autographed, but due to trades, etc. it may not be possible Bid sheets must be filled out prior to bidding and must be signed to show your acceptance of the rules and terms of the auction.
MEET & GREET The Meet & greet is held just prior to the regular season. This season it was moved from the clubhouse at the players apartments to the Rink because we have grown and needed more room. It gives the club the opportunity to meet the new players and renew acquaintances with the former ones. It is a casual get together and club members bring snacks & hors d' oeuvre type food. The entire team, including players' families are included. Along with team staff(coach, assistant coach, trainer, equipment manager, stick boy(s), radio personalities and families). This is a club function for MEMBERS ONLY. No guests. Members are required to show their club cards to attend.
BOOSTER CLUB TABLE The Booster Club Table is up and operating during each home game. Two people are needed to take care of the table for ever game. We sell tickets for an autographed hockey stick and puck during each game along with occasional team autographed jerseys, etc... Applications to become club members are also available between periods of play, so if you bring a friend to a game and they are not a club member, bring them by the table and sign them up!
